Port of Metz in Lorraine, a reference in grain logistics

The port of Metz (Moselle, Lorraine) is the international reference for the quotation of rapeseed.

It is on the basis of “FOB Moselle oilseed rape”, that is to say, loaded on a barge at the port of Metz and free of any subsidy tax, that the price of rapeseed is set worldwide.

But that’s not all, with its storage capacity of 464,000 tonnes and 3.4 million tonnes of processed grain a year, make Metz the largest river port in Europe. Its railroad junction in the Woippy marshaling yard and its proximity to highways make it a real hub.
